Blogger Sued for Posting Negative Book Review

08.20.07 | No Comments

PZ Myers of ScienceBlogs.com is being sued for libel because he wrote a negative book review of Stuart Pivar’s new book, Lifecode, on his popular science blog, Pharyngula. Christopher Mims of Scientific American has the rundown of events, to which Myers responded

“I still stand by my review, and now I’m a bit disturbed that someone would think criticism of a scientific hypothesis must be defended by silencing its critics.”

Perhaps Pivar thinks bloggers should merely be an extension of his PR team?
