Well, Rigoberta Menchu almost was. Staff at Cancun’s five star Hotel Coral Beach tried to evict the Nobel peace prize winner because they mistakenly thought she was just another street vendor or beggar because of the way she was dressed. Menchu was wearing a traditional Mayan dress. The irony, of course, is that Cancun makes lots of money attracting tourists to its fake Mayan attractions while discriminating against the real Mayans.
