William Gibson on the Past and Future

08.12.07 | No Comments

Spook CountryWilliam Gibson, the guy who basically invented the cyberpunk genre with his 1984 novel Neuromancer, discusses his new book, Spook Country. He’s got some great quotes like:

To me, the Internet is as basic a thing for humanity to be doing as, say, cities have been. It’s that primal, that important, maybe more so.

- William Gibson on the Past and Future

There’s also an audio interview with William Gibson talking about the history of cyberpunk, the Fortean Times, and other sci fi stuff over at Trashotron.com. It’s a hefty 91 MB but quite interesting.
